About the event

Join us in celebration of Earth Day by planting trees at the Heritage Quarries Recreation Area! We'll plant 80 native sapling and juvenile trees, including White Oaks, Bur Oaks, Prairie Oaks, Red Maples, Prairiefire Crabapples, and others in the pollinator meadow and along the Krueger Quarry shoreline.


We'll meet at Parking Lot One. Please plan to arrive between 8:45 and 9:00 am. Planting will begin at 9:00 am and end at 11:30 am. We'll celebrate our work with a complementary pizza party!


SAFETY GEAR IS A REQUIREMENT FOR VOLUNTEERING. Please bring the following items:

  • Eye protection (safety goggles or glasses)

  • Reinforced work gloves

  • A shovel (if you have one)
